In the wake of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 civilians died, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar praised Operation Sindoor as a significant closure for the bereaved families. Among the victims was a Nepali national, adding an international dimension to this tragic event.
Shivakumar, aligning with the Congress party, has voiced strong support for the Indian Armed Forces and the central government. He emphasized the need to transcend political rivalries in times of national crisis, exemplified by cancelling a protest against price hikes in Raichur to show unity with defense efforts.
Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation on Wednesday, involved decisive strikes by the Indian military on multiple terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The operation, described as India's deepest strike in Pakistan since 1971, targeted key terrorist training sites, delivering a powerful response to the Pahalgam attack.
