Telangana is ramping up its security measures as tensions rise along the Pakistani border. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy ordered the detention of Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals illegally residing in the state, according to his office. Police officials have been directed to carry out these detentions, and employees engaged in emergency services are required to remain on duty as leaves have been suspended.

In a proactive civil defense move, authorities conducted a large-scale emergency mock drill in Hyderabad's Golconda area. This exercise is part of a nationwide initiative aimed at improving readiness against potential threats. Held at Evelon Apartment, the drill saw eager participation from local residents, who were trained in emergency protocols like evacuation and first aid. The operation involved coordination with multiple agencies, including the Fire Department, NCC, SDRF, medical teams, and police officials.

These drills coincide with a series of others taking place across major Indian cities. Following the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that resulted in 26 fatalities, the Ministry of Home Affairs has called for such assessments of preparedness. Meanwhile, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has communicated India's restrained yet firm measures against terror, during briefings with international counterparts. Videos of these strategic strikes were shared during today's media briefing, marking India's commitment to counterterrorism efforts.
