Assam's esteemed Raj Bhavan has embarked on a significant digital transformation initiative by signing a Memorandum of Association with IIT Guwahati. The agreement seeks to qualitatively and quantitatively enhance the functioning of Raj Bhavan, with Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya presiding over the event at the Raj Bhavan premises in Guwahati.

The collaboration, known as the Gyan Kalyan Project, positions IIT Guwahati as a knowledge partner and consultant, ushering in digital transformation to boost efficiency in public service delivery. The project is heralded as the first of its kind in the nation, integrating advanced digital and information technology to optimize Raj Bhavan's operations, while ensuring robust data protection measures are adhered to.

This ambitious initiative aims to bolster the operational capabilities of Raj Bhavan across a spectrum of constitutional roles, facilitated by IIT Guwahati's prowess in developing a digital governance framework. Additionally, IIT Guwahati's recent advancement in environmental solutions, particularly the development of multifunctional aerogels, underscores the institution's commitment to addressing pressing global challenges.
