The Tamil Nadu government has announced a crucial reshuffle in its cabinet, with several ministers receiving new portfolios. Duraimurugan, previously the Water Resources Minister, will now also handle the Law portfolio. This change was officially communicated in a statement from the state's Raj Bhavan on Thursday.

Simultaneously, S Regupathy has been appointed as the Minister for Natural Resources, overseeing the Minerals and Mines portfolio. This development comes after recent resignations from key positions, prompting an overhaul under the guidance of Chief Minister MK Stalin. DMK MLA T Mano Thangraj has stepped into the role of Minister for Milk and Dairy Development, reinstating his position from a prior reshuffle.

In additional appointments, SS Sivasankar, already the Minister for Transport, will also assume responsibilities as the Minister for Electricity. Meanwhile, S Muthusamy will take on duties related to Prohibition and Excise, alongside his current role in Housing and Urban Development. RS Rajakannappan transitions from the Milk and Dairy Development portfolio to manage Forests and Khadi.
