In the early hours of Thursday, a devastating landmine blast in Telangana's Mulugu district claimed the lives of three police personnel. The explosion, believed to be orchestrated by Naxals, took place in Wazeedu village. Authorities have yet to release additional details on the incident.

This tragic event follows a deadly encounter on Wednesday near the Keregutta Hills in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, where at least 22 Naxals were killed. 'Mission Sankalp', a large-scale anti-Naxal operation spanning the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border, continues as security forces engage with insurgents. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai confirmed the number of fatalities and ongoing efforts.

Additional confrontations on Tuesday led to the death of a woman Naxalite and the recovery of a .303 rifle. As gunfire erupted in Bijapur's dense forested border areas on May 5, officials found traces indicating potential further casualties among the militants. Meanwhile, significant Naxal surrenders have occurred, including 24 surrendering on April 28, 14 of whom carried a reward of Rs 28.50 lakh.
