In the midst of a tense water-sharing conflict between Punjab and Haryana, Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh accused the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) chairman of releasing water to Haryana without proper consent, criticizing the BJP for making 'anti-Punjab decisions.' He stated the BBMB was used to 'forcefully loot' Punjab's water resources.

Punjab continues its humanitarian supply of 4,000 cusecs to Haryana, asserting that unconstitutional meetings at BBMB heighten the crisis. Punjab officials have made calls for the BBMB chairman's accountability, urging fair water management and legal avenues to uphold their rights.

Punjab Minister Harjot Singh Bains emphasized ongoing water allocations, while Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring suggested approaching the Supreme Court to challenge BBMB decisions. Strict actions were promised by DIG Ropar Range, Harcharan Singh Bhullar, against any disruption of law and order during this escalating dispute.
