Former Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Shirish Baban Deo, has lauded the Indian Air Force's recent deployment of the S-400 Sudarshan Chakra missile system. The system's successful engagement of threats approaching the Indian border underscores its remarkable precision, capable of intercepting even medium-range ballistic missiles.
Speaking to ANI, Deo described the S-400 as perhaps the world's most potent system, integrating three types of radars and missiles, each tailored for distinct target profiles. This allows the S-400 to maintain a high single-shot kill probability against a spectrum of threats. He also highlighted the utility of Harpy drones, which can loiter in an area for extended periods and target enemy radars even if they are switched off.
Deo criticized Pakistan's military leadership for being corrupt and radicalized, impacting its army's professional capabilities. He stressed the need for India to adopt a comprehensive national strategy to counter both military and internal security threats. In response to Operation Sindoor, Pakistan's panicked attempts to retaliate were neutralized by India's integrated defense systems.
