Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor emphasized on Friday that Pakistan must take responsibility for its actions and apologize for the recent attack. He clarified that India's response was an act of retaliation, not provocation, and cautioned that Pakistan's actions could have significant repercussions. Kishor warned that both countries, and their citizens, would suffer in a war-like scenario, urging avoidance of such situations.
Kishor remarked, "This situation began with Pahalgam. Following this incident, India targeted nine terrorist sites. Pakistan must comprehend that a war-like state is detrimental for the citizens of both nations." He added, "While the avoidance of such a scenario is crucial, the onus of responsibility does not rest with India—it lies with Pakistan."
On April 22, 2025, terrorists targeted and killed 26 individuals, predominantly Indian citizens, in Pahalgam. India has accused Pakistan-based terror outfits of orchestrating the assault. Through 'Operation Sindoor,' India retaliated by striking terrorist sites, leading to Pakistan's missile responses, effectively neutralized by India's air defense systems.
The Indian defense apparatus, built over 11 years, played a pivotal role in addressing these threats. Leveraging an arsenal including the S-400 Triumf systems, Barak-8 missiles, and DRDO's technologies, India secured its airspace. Despite escalating tensions, India's military has countered all Pakistani missile strikes, pushing deep into Pakistani territories and targeting strategic defense installations.
Sources confirmed that the Narendra Modi administration has systematically enhanced air defense postures since 2014, signing significant deals for cutting-edge weaponry, while emphasizing indigenous technology development. Amid this backdrop, the use of loitering munitions marked a strategic advancement, with precision strikes against Pakistani assets.
Meanwhile, international voices like the US and China have urged both nations to exercise restraint and pursue diplomatic avenues for conflict resolution. The scenario underscores the critical need for principled diplomacy to avert further escalation.
