Despite soaring tensions between India and Pakistan, Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport remains operational, although flight schedules have been disrupted with 138 cancellations to date. Among these, 63 domestic arrivals and 66 domestic departures have been notably affected, impacting many travelers' plans.
Sources from Delhi airport confirmed that while the airport is functional, some flights have been canceled. Passengers are advised to contact airlines for real-time updates on flight statuses. Meanwhile, IndiGo announced a suspension of all flights to several destinations, including Srinagar and Chandigarh, until May 10, 2025, guiding passengers to seek updates through official channels.
In a related development, Mumbai International Airport has cautioned passengers about extended wait times due to enhanced security measures amid the current tensions. Passengers are advised to arrive early to accommodate thorough security checks. This comes as the Pakistani army conducted airspace violations, using drones to target Indian military installations, prompting India's ongoing cross-border operations.
