Asia Index, a subsidiary of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), has announced the introduction of its latest financial tool, the BSE Dividend Leaders 50 Index. Launched this Friday, the index targets companies within the BSE 500 index that have consistently paid dividends for the past decade.

In a statement, Asia Index remarked that the new index will be reconstituted annually each December, highlighting businesses that illustrate financial resilience through sustained dividend payouts. "This index shines a spotlight on quality businesses demonstrating consistent dividend payouts — a hallmark of financial resilience, capital discipline, and shareholder commitment," commented Ashutosh Singh, Managing Director and CEO of Asia Index.

The newly unveiled index offers opportunities in deploying passive investment strategies, including Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and Index Funds. It also serves as a benchmark for evaluating the performance of various sectors in India, along with Portfolio Management Services (PMS), mutual fund schemes, and other investment portfolios, according to the statement from Asia Index.
