JKNC MP Welcomes India-Pakistan Peace Pact; Calls for Support in Affected Areas

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmed expressed approval for the newly agreed cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan. While discussing the aftermath of cross-border shelling, Ahmed urged authorities to provide employment opportunities to kin of the deceased and highlighted damaged homes in Rajouri and Poonch.
The politician noted regional improvements following the ceasefire and called for necessary government support to those affected. 'Job opportunities should be ensured for families who lost members,' he stated, further emphasizing the need for assistance to rebuild damaged properties in distressed areas.
In related developments, the Directors General of Military Operations from both nations scheduled discussions on Monday. Indian military authorities reported that 11 airbases in Pakistan were targeted in Operation Sindoor, designed to dismantle terror networks. This response followed a deadly terrorist act in Pahalgam on April 22, which resulted in 26 casualties.
