ReNew Power, a prominent player in the green energy sector, has announced a significant investment of Rs 22,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh. The company plans to construct India's largest renewable energy complex, marking its re-emergence in the region after a five-year hiatus.

The ambitious project will include a solar energy plant with a capacity of 1,800 megawatts, a 1,000 MW wind facility, and a 2 GWh battery energy storage system, to be built in two phases in Anantapur. An extra-high voltage line will also be established to transmit the generated clean energy efficiently.

This development is seen as a vote of confidence in the state's leadership, following previous controversies that led to a standstill in renewable investments. The ReNew initiative aligns with Andhra Pradesh's new clean energy policy, rolled out in October 2024.
