Amid escalating global conflicts, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge underscored the profound relevance of Lord Buddha's teachings. He emphasized the world's urgent need for 'Buddha, not Yudh (war),' referencing ongoing wars such as those in Ukraine and Syria. Kharge's remarks to ANI underline a call for global introspection and a return to peace-centric values.

Addressing national security, Kharge leveled criticism at Pakistan for its alleged backing of terrorism and attempts to destabilize India. 'Pakistan is fueling terrorism and trying to disturb peace in our nation. This is unacceptable. We must stand united and prepared to counter these threats,' he asserted.

Earlier in the day, Kharge praised Lord Buddha's 'timeless life,' whose teachings, characterized by truth, compassion, non-violence, and equality, continue to influence civilizations. His greetings on Buddha Purnima included aspirations for harmony and unity.

In a show of political unity, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed their respects on Buddha Purnima. Gandhi noted Buddha's ideals of peace and love, while Modi emphasized his messages of truth and equality as enduring guides for humanity.

Adding her voice to the occasion, President Droupadi Murmu sent heartfelt greetings globally. She highlighted Buddha's values as foundational for social justice and non-violence, urging their integration into daily life to nurture a harmonious Bharat.
