In a solemn ceremony held in Imphal, the last rites of BSF Constable Deepak Chingakham, who was killed in cross-border firing from Pakistan, were performed with state honors. The event drew family, friends, and colleagues in a united expression of respect and mourning.

Deepak's uncle, Chingakham Surjit Singh, reflected on his nephew's love for sports and commitment to the Border Security Force, which he joined in 2021 at the age of 23. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and BSF officials paid homage at his wreath-laying ceremony.

Simultaneously, tributes poured in for BSF Sub Inspector Mohammed Imteyaz in his native Bihar village. Imteyaz also succumbed to injuries followed by cross-border shelling. Political figures, including RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, acknowledged the courage displayed by these soldiers, pledging state support to Imteyaz's family.
