An IndiGo flight traveling from Muscat to Kochi and continuing to Delhi was unexpectedly diverted to Nagpur on Tuesday due to security concerns. IndiGo confirmed the swift action was taken following a security alert, ensuring passenger safety.

The plane safely landed at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, and all passengers disembarked without incident. In a statement, IndiGo clarified, 'Upon receiving a security alert related to flight 6E1272 from Muscat to Kochi, operating as 6E2706 from Kochi to Delhi, we promptly informed the authorities and diverted the flight to Nagpur.'

This incident coincides with heightened vigilance in the aviation sector following a tragic Air India crash on June 12, which has prompted airlines to ensure strict adherence to safety protocols. High-ranking officials, led by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, will convene on June 17 to evaluate current aviation security measures.
