Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves Promotions and Fresh Opportunities

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav presided over a pivotal cabinet meeting at the Mantralaya in Bhopal on Tuesday, where key decisions were taken to ensure representation and advancement for reserved categories in state services. The newly approved Public Service Promotion Rules allocate 20 percent and 16 percent reservations for Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes, respectively. Additionally, merit-based promotions for SC and ST public servants were sanctioned, potentially creating around 200,000 vacancies in government services.
Elaborating on the decisions via social media platform X, CM Yadav emphasized the long-awaited resolution of the promotion matter, pending for nine years, that safeguards the interests of all categories, particularly SC and ST employees. He further pointed out that the massive number of vacancies would open the way for new recruitment opportunities. The cabinet also introduced the 'Saksham Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0' scheme to enhance infrastructure in tribal areas, creating several new positions within these facilities.
Financially, the Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited (MPPTCL) received approval for an estimated expenditure of Rs 5,163 crores for projects spanning from 2025 to 2030, supported by a state equity and institutional loans. Moreover, the cabinet sanctioned the establishment of District Treasuries in newly created districts such as Pandhurna, Maihar, and Mauganj.
