Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, the Indian government has launched 'Operation Sindhu' to evacuate its citizens from the conflict zone. On Thursday, the first group of 110 Indian nationals, including students from Urmia University, arrived safely in Delhi. This operation reflects India's commitment to its citizens' safety abroad.
Evacuated students shared their relief and gratitude towards Indian authorities, noting the worsening conditions in Tehran. One student recounted, 'The situation over there is worsening day by day... It's particularly bad in Tehran. Indian students are being evacuated to safety,' while expressing satisfaction with the government's efforts.
The evacuation route took the students from Armenia to Qatar before arriving in India. Ghazal, a student, highlighted their journey's success, saying, 'We are all very happy that we returned home and the Indian Embassy evacuated us properly.' Parents of the evacuees expressed similar sentiments, lauding the Indian Embassy's and the Ministry of External Affairs' coordinated efforts.
