Jammu and Kashmir's Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has acknowledged concerns raised by students evacuated from Iran over the quality of transportation provided for their journey from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir. The Chief Minister's office announced that steps are being taken to address these issues.
The students, part of the evacuation under Operation Sindhu due to escalating hostilities in Iran, have criticized the condition of buses offered by the J&K government, claiming they are not fit for travel. Their dissatisfaction highlights a significant gap in the evacuation process, despite the successful efforts to bring them safely to India.
Operation Sindhu, launched by the Indian government for safe evacuation amidst the Iran-Israel conflict, has generally been well-received. Students have expressed gratitude for the smooth operation. Nonetheless, the poor travel arrangements to their home state remain a concern for many who fear for their safety. Chief Minister Abdullah's intervention is seen as a positive step toward resolving these grievances.
