Union Home Minister Amit Shah is poised to initiate a crucial two-day visit to Chhattisgarh on June 22 and 23, symbolizing the central government's pledge to reinforce internal security and foster development in the region. His visit aims to bolster collaboration between the Centre and state in tackling left-wing extremism and accelerating growth, particularly in susceptible and underdeveloped districts.
Shah's itinerary begins at Atal Nagar in Nava Raipur on June 22, where he will lay foundation stones and inaugurate pivotal central government institutions designed to elevate administrative and scientific capacities in the region. Key projects include the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), with the newly constructed Raipur campus enhancing forensic infrastructure and criminal justice systems as part of a broader national initiative.
The state-of-the-art Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) will support high-level investigations and assist law enforcement with cutting-edge forensic analysis. Additionally, Shah will oversee a high-profile security review meeting in the evening with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, top state bureaucrats, and leaders from the Central Armed Police Forces and state police.
On June 23, Shah's agenda takes him to Narayanpur, one of the state's most Naxal-affected districts. Here, he will engage with security personnel on the ground to boost morale and evaluate operational needs.
Shah will also interact with local villagers and tribal communities to assess the impact of central development schemes like the PM Awas Yojana, PMGSY road projects, and skill development initiatives. Additionally, the Home Minister will review the progress of rehabilitation colonies and welfare programs for insurgency-affected families.
