President Murmu, who was sworn in as India's 15th President on July 25, 2022, has dedicated her life to empowering marginalized communities and enhancing democratic values, according to her official biography. Born into a Santhali tribal family in Odisha, Murmu overcame early life struggles to become the first woman in her village to attain a college degree.
