Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Uttar Pradesh government, criticizing its governance and infrastructure policies. Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Yadav alleged that multiple departmental conflicts hinder effective administration. He questioned the effectiveness of the governance, stating, 'There is another department responsible for village development. Those merely meandering aimlessly have contributed to ongoing conflicts and disputes over transfer postings across several departments.'

Yadav further accused the state administration of squandering public funds, particularly criticizing the Smart City project execution. 'Despite receiving an allocated budget for the Smart City project, Gorakhpur suffers from waterlogging issues due to improper drainage systems. Public funds are being misused while officials remain elusive, possibly hiding within the Chief Minister's residence,' he asserted. Discussing the Purvanchal Expressway, Yadav highlighted discrepancies in its construction, remarking, 'Land acquisition was halfway completed under our governance, but after losing power, the project deviated from Indian Road Congress standards. Tenders were rescinded in favor of other contractors.'

While predicting the return of the Samajwadi Party, he promised to revamp the Purvanchal Expressway. Yadav also responded to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's comments on the mysterious 'D Company,' demanding clarity on what it represents. He stated, 'The CM's advisor is known for running false news campaigns against me, and his links to D Company are evident now.' Yadav also addressed electricity and inflation concerns, declaring, 'The current administration has failed to generate electricity, causing increased costs.' Regarding inflation, he added, 'Ongoing global conflicts inevitably raise inflation, yet the government's handling of foreign policy remains perplexing.'
