Defence Minister Rajnath Singh departed from the national capital on Friday, heading to Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir. His visit is to join the International Day of Yoga celebrations and engage with Armed Forces personnel stationed there. 'Leaving New Delhi for Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir. Shall attend the International Yoga Day celebrations tomorrow morning. Also, looking forward to interacting with the Armed Forces personnel at Udhampur Cantt,' Singh announced on social media platform X.

The Indian Army, in a significant collaboration with Indian diplomatic missions and cultural centres, is marking the International Day of Yoga 2025 with enthusiasm at various international venues. Echoing the global theme of health, harmony, and holistic well-being, multiple yoga events have been arranged in anticipation of June 21, 2025. At the Defence Services Academy in Myanmar, a yoga session on June 19 saw active participation from all students enrolled in Postgraduate and Diploma courses. A group of 45 Burmese officers from various age groups attended, enhancing the event's vibrancy and engagement. The program showcased yoga's role in boosting physical fitness, mental resilience, and inner peace.

Meanwhile, in Kazakhstan, the Indian Army Training Team, in collaboration with the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, held a special yoga session at the National Defence University in Astana on June 19. This initiative was aimed at introducing yoga to the Kazakh Armed Forces, highlighting its benefits in reducing stress and lifestyle-related health issues while promoting overall well-being. In Tashkent, Uzbekistan, yoga has turned into a national event under the Embassy of India's patronage. The Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Indian Culture, alongside the Indian Army Training Team, is leading this significant event, supervised by the Ambassador. This gathering unites a diverse range of participants, including government representatives, the Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces Academy, and civil institutions.

In the run-up to the main events on June 21, various yoga modules have already been conducted across Tashkent by qualified yoga instructors from the Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Indian Culture. These sessions effectively integrated members from Friends of Friendly Countries, reiterating unity, health, and harmony through yoga. The global engagement of the Indian Army in the International Day of Yoga 2025 reflects its dedication to fostering a culture of wellness, mindfulness, and shared global values, underscoring the holistic impact of yoga on global health.
