In a historic event, 2,121 individuals in Vadnagar, Gujarat, set a new Guinness World Record by holding the Yoga Cobra pose for two minutes and nine seconds. This extraordinary feat more than doubled the minimum requirement of 250 participants, marking a significant accomplishment for both the local community and India.
The record-breaking attempt, overseen by Guinness World Records adjudicator Richard Stunning, required participants to hold the Cobra pose for at least one minute. While 2,184 individuals initially breached the one-minute mark, 64 were discounted, securing the record at 2,121 participants, Stunning said in a statement to ANI.
Gujarat's Health Minister Rishikesh Patel applauded the achievement, attributing its success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's promotion of yoga. The event coincided with International Yoga Day, during which Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in yoga activities, and Prime Minister Modi led the national event from Visakhapatnam.
