Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced on Sunday that approximately 33 lakh people have participated in the Char Dham Yatra so far this year. He assured reporters of ongoing preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, a significant annual event.

Reflecting on the Char Dham pilgrimage, which commenced on April 30 with the ceremonious opening of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham, Dhami emphasized the pilgrimage's significance. The sacred sites of Kedarnath and Badrinath followed suit, welcoming pilgrims on May 2 and May 4, respectively. In parallel, Dhami addressed the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh conference, highlighting initiatives for strengthening ties between labour and industries to bolster development goals and enhance worker facilities.

In a historic move, Dhami's administration sanctioned India's first dedicated Yoga Policy, building on its strides with the Uniform Civil Code. This bold policy aims to position Uttarakhand as a preeminent global destination for yoga and wellness, enriching its cultural and touristic appeal.
