Tel Aviv, Israel (ANI/TPS) — As conflicts with Iran continue to unfold, Israel's Ministry of Education is taking proactive steps to adapt its educational programs to better serve displaced students. This summer, the 'Kindergartens and Schools of the Great (summer) Vacation' initiative is expanding under the guidance of the Pedagogical Director, ensuring educational support for children separated from their homes.
Scheduled to operate from July 1 to July 21, 2025, the program applies to kindergarteners and students in grades 1 through 3. It is specifically designed for students residing in alternative accommodations across the country. Approximately 750,000 students have registered, highlighting the extensive reach and impact of the initiative.
In a novel approach, the Ministry offers three flexible participation options for evacuated families. Students can join an educational setting near their temporary residence, return to their original school using coordinated transportation, or rejoin without any transportation needs. This initiative prioritizes educational continuity and emotional support, with a particular emphasis on bridging gaps in STEM subjects.
