The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing critique against the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), following Tejashwi Yadav's laudatory remarks about his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, as the 'Messiah of the poor.' BJP leader Deepak Prakash accused the RJD of having little respect for democratic principles.
Prakash further lambasted Lalu Prasad Yadav's long-standing leadership, labeling RJD as a party with no internal democracy. He implied that a more inclusive approach by Lalu, such as promoting a grassroots worker to leadership, would earn him genuine respect among the poor.
Lalu Prasad Yadav continues to garner support within RJD, as he seeks his 13th term as national president. During the filing for his candidacy, party leaders, including his son Tejashwi, expressed optimism for future victories under his leadership. The party prepares for its polls set for July 5, coinciding with the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.
