Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has charged the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal with being complicit in various acts of violence across the state. Chowdhury, a former Congress MP, criticized the state government for offering 'freebies' while alleging that 'communal polarization' is a central strategy in TMC's political maneuvering.

Chowdhury remarked to ANI that the TMC's approach involves a mix of violence and handouts, aiming to maintain dominance through divisive electoral strategies. He suggested that the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) persistence in state politics is resulting in consolidated Muslim support for the TMC, which he described as an 'electoral strategy' by Mamata Banerjee.

The Congress leader claimed that Mamata Banerjee exploits these strategies to suppress opposition, especially as elections approach. During the Kaliganj bypoll victory celebrations on June 23, a 13-year-old girl tragically died in a bomb blast. The explosion, occurring amid a TMC victory procession, spurred police to launch a manhunt for those responsible. Mamata Banerjee expressed condolences and demanded decisive action from the police.
