The Axiom-4 Mission is poised for launch on Wednesday, marking a momentous day for India as Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla takes on a pivotal role. Space strategist PK Ghosh emphasized the mission's importance, with Shukla set to command ISRO's Gaganyaan Mission, carrying three to four Indian astronauts into space.
Shukla's role is critical, as he will be the sole astronaut with space experience, leading the Gaganyaan Mission. Ghosh highlighted, "At that time, he will be the only person who will be experienced, and he will obviously command the Gaganyaan Mission." This marks India's second foray into space since 1984.
On the Axiom-4 front, Commander Peggy Whitson will lead, while Shukla will serve as the navigator. The mission, scheduled for liftoff at 12:01 PM IST, aims to conduct numerous experiments, with Union Minister Jitendra Singh confirming the updates via social media.
