The Cyber Police of Shahdara, in a significant breakthrough, dismantled a fake job recruitment racket, arresting its mastermind, Rahul, who hails from Bahadurgarh in Haryana. However, Seema Yadav, his wife and alleged accomplice, continues to evade capture, according to an official release issued on Wednesday.

The scam came to authorities' attention after a 19-year-old from Bhola Nath Nagar was conned through a fraudulent job ad on YouTube. Promised a cashier position at Zepto via a fake job search app, the young man was cheated out of over Rs 9,000 for non-existent registration, document verification, and processing fees.

As the investigation deepened, the police employed technical surveillance, mobile forensics, and live location tracking, uncovering a widespread syndicate across Delhi, Noida, and Uttar Pradesh. A rented office in Nirman Vihar, used as a fake recruitment center, was found abandoned shortly before police arrived. Evidence seized included over 100 candidate resumes, Aadhaar cards, and service agreements, linking the fraud to others, while bank accounts tied to Shivam of Budh Vihar and Abhishek Tiwari of New Delhi were identified.

The primary suspect, Rahul, was taken into custody and is being uncooperative. Investigators believe he has targeted job seekers since 2011, driven by financial gain. Seema Yadav remains on the run with authorities working to track her down.

The police are now investigating similar cases from other states, hinting at a broader fraudulent network. More revelations are expected as the investigation progresses. (ANI)
