Authorities in Punjab have detained two individuals suspected of participating in espionage activities associated with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), police sources revealed on Sunday.
The suspects, Gurpreet Singh, also known as Gopy Foji, and Sahil Masih, known as Shali, were identified during a strategic intelligence operation conducted by the Amritsar Rural Police, according to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav.
Initial investigations indicate that Singh maintained direct communication with ISI operatives, allegedly transmitting sensitive information using pen drives, Yadav stated. The main ISI handler, identified as Rana Javed, has been spotlighted in this operation. Meanwhile, two mobile phones, purportedly used to liaise with ISI operatives, have been confiscated. Efforts continue to dismantle the wider espionage and terror network, with investigations focused on identifying other collaborators involved.
