Delhi's Ambitious Plan to Rejuvenate Yamuna: A 45-point Water Revolution

The Delhi Jal Board, spearheaded by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has announced an ambitious 45-point action plan dedicated to improving Delhi's water infrastructure and tackling pollution in the Yamuna River. The extensive plan, which comes with a funding of Rs 9,000 crore, is set for completion within the next year, as confirmed by a senior official.
This initiative aims to ensure access to clean water in the capital and restore the Yamuna to a pollution-free state. Chief Minister Gupta is personally overseeing the river rejuvenation, with additional oversight from Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and PWD Minister Parvesh Verma.
The collaboration between the Central and Delhi Governments focuses on cleaning the Yamuna. The Central Pollution Control Board is tasked with re-verifying 360 city drains, with a drone survey planned for 22 major drains. Real-time water Monitoring Stations are being installed, including 10 along the Yamuna and 22 on adjoining drains.
