During a press conference amidst the uproar over the Kolkata gang rape case, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan condemned the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal. He drew comparisons between TMC's current administration and the Emergency period imposed by Congress in 1975, highlighting a 'dangerous mindset' afflicted under their rule.
Pradhan criticized TMC for allegedly carrying forward 'the Congress culture,' which, according to him, has disrupted the state's education and social structures. He noted that West Bengal, once renowned for its educational standards, has seen a decline under TMC's governance, emphasizing recent gang rape cases as evidence of leadership failures.
As political unrest and protests intensify following the gang rape of a law student and a postgraduate trainee doctor, Pradhan stressed the concerning comments by TMC leaders, despite the female leadership of the party. He urged for liberating West Bengal from TMC's rule, underscoring the need for state accountability in ensuring campus security.
