In a fiery rebuke, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray launched a verbal assault on Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, accusing him of harboring an anti-Marathi stance due to the withdrawal of resolutions on the state's three-language policy. Thackeray questioned the Chief Minister's intentions, emphasizing the need to address other pressing issues as the assembly session approaches.
The Maharashtra government, facing intense opposition backlash, revoked orders mandating Hindi as a compulsory third language, announcing a new committee to discuss potential implementations. Devendra Fadnavis informed of the cancellation of earlier resolutions and confirmed that Dr. Narendra Jadhav would lead this advisory committee.
Despite these developments, Raj Thackeray, the Chief of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, criticized the previous imposition of Hindi under the pretext of a multilingual education policy. He questioned the committee's necessity and urged the government to permanently resolve the issue without further muddling it with additional reports, asserting that the Marathi people's pressure was instrumental in the policy rollback.
