In anticipation of the Amarnath Yatra 2025, security and disaster response forces, including the Indian Army, CRPF, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and JKSDRF, came together in a collaborative mock landslide drill at Samroli, Toldi Nallah, along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Sunday. This proactive measure aimed to evaluate how prepared the teams are to tackle any natural disasters or landslides that might occur during the pilgrimage, focusing on rescuing stranded vehicles and providing essential aid to pilgrims in distress.

During the drill, security personnel successfully executed a staged rescue operation, transporting a mock victim to a hospital following first aid on the scene. Such exercises highlight the effectiveness of coordinated efforts among various agencies, ensuring a fast response during real emergencies. Deputy SP Prehlad Kumar underlined that these drills are vital for enhancing the competence and readiness of security forces, ensuring the safety of pilgrims throughout the yatra.

In preparation for this significant event, a comprehensive security review was conducted by Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, in Udhampur. The meeting aimed to assess the upcoming yatra preparations, starting from July 1 to August 9. Senior police officers and security forces discussed deployment strategies, traffic management, and emergency response plans while emphasizing the importance of maintaining close inter-agency coordination. This comprehensive approach underpins the commitment to safeguarding the pilgrimage experience.
