Towards 'Viksit Bodoland': UPPL's Vision for Transformative Change Ahead of BTC Elections

As the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections approach, United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) President and BTC Chief Pramod Boro has outlined a transformative vision for the region, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Viksit Bharat' initiative. In an exclusive interview with ANI, Boro stated that the elections are not merely a quest for political power.
Boro explained that UPPL intends to lead Bodoland with a focus on developmental agendas, protecting cultural identity, and promoting language and literature. Highlighting the long history of struggle for a separate territory, he acknowledged past movements by the Bodo people and the peace brought about by accords signed in 2003 and 2020.
Criticizing previous governance under the BPF, Boro emphasized the need for improved policies and systems. He underscored UPPL's initiatives to bridge development gaps with 36 flagship programs, focusing on education and livelihood opportunities for Bodoland's people. With upcoming elections, Boro stressed the significance of these efforts in advancing the region.
