Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing the party of spreading misinformation about former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's involvement with the Mashelkar committee's three-language policy report. Raut demanded transparency, challenging the BJP to publicly release the report if Thackeray had indeed submitted it.

Raut criticized the BJP's handling of language policy discussions, insisting that any national policy affecting the state merits thorough debate. He questioned Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' repeated terms, suggesting a lack of understanding. The controversy follows the Maharashtra government's cancellation of orders to implement the three-language policy amid opposition backlash and accusations of Hindi imposition.

Raj Thackeray, leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, attributed the cancellation to Marathi public pressure. He criticized the government's commitment to the Hindi language agenda and expressed concern over renewed confusion due to another committee's formation. Thackeray emphasized that Maharashtra will not tolerate future impositions, marking a decisive stance against language policy changes.
