Tragedy in Maharajganj: Domestic Violence Leads to Collective Suicide Bid

A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Maharajganj as a seven-year-old boy succumbed to poisoning after his mother attempted a collective suicide with her children, police reported on Monday.
According to Superintendent of Police Somendra Meena, Sandhya, 38, distressed by domestic violence, administered a poisonous substance to her three children—Aditya, 7, Manisha, 10, and Nisha, 12—before consuming it herself. Sadly, Aditya died during treatment at the district hospital, while his sisters remain in critical condition.
In a statement to a magistrate, Sandhya disclosed that she married Shiv Kumar Sahni 15 years ago and faced regular abuse when her husband was intoxicated. Authorities have launched a search operation as Sahni has been missing since the tragic event.
