In the midst of Bihar's political unrest surrounding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy lashed out at opposition parties, accusing them of harboring a "strong aversion to the Constitution." Rudy argued that the opposition's failed attempt to halt the SIR through the Supreme Court has led them to disrupt parliamentary proceedings.

Rudy emphasized the importance of respecting democratic norms and urged fellow MPs to ensure no voter is left off the electoral rolls. Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India is undertaking the SIR ahead of Bihar's 2025 assembly elections, a move that has sparked significant debate.

Opposition leaders from the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), including Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, organized protests at the Parliament's Makar Dwar, branding the revision as a "death of democracy." The Election Commission's recent findings revealed significant voter discrepancies, strengthening calls for transparency and accountability in the revision process.
