In a substantial move to bolster educational and workforce collaboration, India and France have inked a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement, signed during the Bharat SkillNxt 2025 event at Bharat Mandapam and in the presence of Minister of State Jayant Chaudhary, is a stride towards formalizing bilateral cooperation in skill development, vocational education, and training.
The MoU, primarily between France's Campus des Metiers et Qualifications and India's Directorate General of Training, lays out an ambitious framework to enhance cooperation. Key sectors targeted include fashion, hospitality, tourism, and energy. The partnership anticipates initiatives ranging from curriculum development to teacher training courses, with a particular emphasis on the French language.
French Ambassador to India, Thierry Mathou, emphasized the agreement as a testament to Indo-French collaboration, reflecting mutual respect and aspiration. The partnership envisages creating pathways for a future-ready workforce while promoting internships, apprenticeships, and inclusivity, notably enhancing women's participation in these initiatives.
