A New Chapter in Education Begins: Inauguration of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Khatima

Built at a cost of Rs 26.23 crore, this facility aims to enhance quality education for children of armed forces and local residents, aligned with India's National Education Policy.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday ceremoniously inaugurated the new Kendriya Vidyalaya in Khatima, a significant educational facility constructed at a cost of Rs 26.23 crore, as part of the All India Education Samagam. In a symbolic gesture of future growth, CM Dhami planted saplings on the school grounds.
The Chief Minister conveyed his thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the establishment of the school. Highlighting its importance, he emphasized how pivotal the Kendriya Vidyalaya will be for education, especially for children of army and paramilitary personnel. Dhami nostalgically noted that if such a school existed in his youth, he might have been one of its students.
Dhami underlined the importance of the National Education Policy, stating it's fostering success in competitive exams and promoting scientific thought among students. He praised Uttarakhand for implementing innovative educational initiatives and noted the state's progress in infrastructure, health, and employment efforts, including strict action against unlawful activities and land encroachments.
