Revamping Himachal's Transport: Him Bus Plus and Digital Integration

The 'Him Bus Plus' scheme, launched by Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, aims to modernize the state's transport system by implementing identity management and cashless payments for HRTC buses, including Volvo services. Pasengers availing this service will benefit from a 5% fare discount and loyalty rewards.
In a bid to attract more travelers, the scheme reduces Super Luxury Bus fares by 15%. New IT systems to facilitate online travel passes, a digital bus inspection schedule, and a GPS-based bus tracking system were introduced to improve operational efficiency. Infrastructure enhancements include Rs 7 crore for bus stand maintenance and e-charging stations.
Targeting tourism growth, a Tourist Day Circuit was launched. Revenue measures, staff welfare policies, and Automated Testing Stations under PPP will ensure service quality and profitability. The Board also approved new uniform color for HRTC staff and an 'Dhaba policy' to enlist eateries, prioritizing hygiene and convenience.
