Uttarakhand Secures Rs 615 Crore from Central Government for Development Boost

The Central Government has greenlit Rs 615 crore for Uttarakhand's development, with Rs 380.201 crore already disbursed, according to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO). Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the support, affirming the state's dedication to development and growth this decade.
Under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme, Uttarakhand sought Rs 619.42 crore for 37 projects in the 2025-26 fiscal year. The approved funds, confirmed by a Finance Ministry letter, will cater to numerous sectors, reflecting the state's advocacy for essential infrastructure.
Significant allocations include Rs 218.45 crore for government medical colleges, Rs 70 crore for the Song Dam water project, and substantial investments in education, police infrastructure, startup ecosystems, water management, and power transmission. Additional funding targets ISBT projects, technical educational facilities, and key infrastructural developments across Uttarakhand.
