The Karnataka Lokayukta carried out extensive search operations on Tuesday, targeting government officials suspected of holding disproportionate assets. The raids unfolded across various districts, with key locations in Hassan, Chikkabalapura, Chitradurga, and Bengaluru coming under scrutiny.
Among the officials investigated were Jayanna R, a National Highway Executive Engineer in Hassan; K Omprakash, a Horticulture Senior Assistant Director in Bengaluru; and several others from various departments. Prior statewide raids were also reported, illustrating an ongoing crackdown on corruption.
Earlier, Sunil Kumar, an Executive Engineer in Kalaburagi's Health and Family Welfare Department, faced a raid revealing substantial undisclosed assets. The Lokayukta's operation forms part of a larger effort led by top officials to address misuse of official positions and unjust wealth accumulation.
