PM Modi and Amit Shah to Grace Assam with Major Inaugurations and Celebrations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Assam to launch key projects including a bio refinery at Numaligarh and attend Bhupen Hazarika's centenary celebrations. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Raj Bhawan and participate in events marking significant political milestones in the state.

On September 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam, where he will inaugurate a bio refinery at Numaligarh, according to Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. Speaking at a press conference at Lok Sewa Bhawan in Guwahati, Sarma highlighted that the refinery, established at a cost of Rs 4200 crore, will convert bamboo to 2G ethanol. Modi is also expected to partake in discussions at Numaligarh.

Additionally, CM Sarma stated that Modi will lay the foundation stone for significant infrastructure projects in Mangaldoi, Darrang district. These projects include the Guwahati ring road, a new bridge over the Brahmaputra connecting Kurua and Narengi, and the Darrang Medical College.

Following these, PM Modi will return to Guwahati for the inaugural event of the centenary celebrations of famed artist Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. The Assam government is organizing this year-long celebration, marking Hazarika's 100th birth anniversary. Preparations have commenced to welcome the Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is slated to visit Guwahati on August 29. He will inaugurate the newly constructed Raj Bhawan in the morning, as informed by CM Sarma. Shah will also attend a convention of newly elected NDA Panchayat representatives, and by evening, he is expected to participate in an event commemorating the centenary of Golap Borbora, Assam's first non-Congress Chief Minister.
