The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has intensified its crackdown on naxal activities by filing a chargesheet against five operatives in connection with the February 2024 arms recovery case in Chhattisgarh, officials announced on Saturday. The accused, identified as Anish Khan alias Annu Khan, Anil Kumar Netam, Jaysing Hidko, Raghvueer Jain, and Shailendra Kumar Baghel alias Golu, were allegedly Over Ground Workers for the proscribed Maoist group.
According to the NIA, the operatives were active members of the Kuyemari Area Committee. The chargesheet, filed before the Special Court in Jagdalpur, includes allegations under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Explosives Substances Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. This follows previous charges in August 2024 against two armed naxal cadres, Vinod Awalam and Ashu Korsa.
Investigations revealed that Anish Khan supplied explosive materials to naxals in village Aalparas, with others assisting in logistics for a planned attack on security forces near Mujalgondi village. Ongoing NIA efforts aim to dismantle the Maoist network's infrastructure and thwart further terror incidents in the region.
