Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has called on metropolitan cities and towns across the state to craft their development vision roadmaps and ensure their timely implementation as part of Urban Development Year-2025. This initiative intends to foster healthy competition among cities, setting a national benchmark for urban development.

The Chief Minister launched this ambitious plan during the 61st Foundation Day of Gandhinagar, highlighting the exemplary efforts of 'Swachhata Warriors' in earning Gandhinagar national recognition for its cleanliness. Once a Green City, Gandhinagar's transformation into a Clean City underscores the shared responsibility of maintaining its growing reputation.

Building on the transformative urban policies initiated in 2005 by then Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the current plan enhances citizen-centric services with increased utilization of technology. Notably, the Urban Development budget has seen a 40% increase this year, allocating Rs 30,000 crore toward creating world-class cities. The Chief Minister emphasized sustainable development with initiatives like 'Catch the Rain' and promoting green cover and solar rooftops, aligning with Prime Minister Modi's vision of a Viksit Bharat@2047.
