In a shocking incident within New Delhi's high-security Chanakyapuri area, R Sudha, a Member of Parliament from Tamil Nadu, reported the snatching of her gold chain during a morning walk. Addressing Home Minister Amit Shah, Sudha recounted how her chain was stolen by a man on a two-wheeler.

Sudha, accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Rajathi, detailed that the incident occurred as they walked near the Polish embassy gates. Despite calls for help, the assailant fled, leaving Sudha with neck injuries. The MP described the assault as distressing and called for immediate action, questioning the safety of women in such areas.

The Delhi Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter, aligning with a broader strategy to curb street crime. The extensive campaign in July led to the arrest of over 650 individuals, including numerous repeat offenders, reinforcing law and order efforts in the capital.
