Manipur Ensures Peace: Major Arrests and Security Overhauls in 24 Hours

The Manipur police have successfully maintained peace in the state over the past 24 hours, as reported in an official release. Security forces actively conducted search operations and regional domination in various areas, targeting individuals involved in extortion and criminal activities through intelligence-driven methods.
On August 4, authorities arrested an active member of the outlawed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK). The suspect, identified as Pangambam Kepten Singh alias Sachikanta, was captured at his home in Thoubal district. Seized items included a mobile phone, SIM card, and an Aadhaar card. In a separate operation, police captured two suspects linked to a Royal Enfield motorcycle theft in Thoubal district. Stolen property, including the vehicle, was retrieved from the suspects, Md. Mufasin and Md. Aman.
Additionally, on August 3, police intervened against traffic violations, seizing three vehicles lacking proper registration. Eighteen vehicles were stripped of prohibited tinted films. To maintain essential service flow, police escorted 417 vehicles on National Highway-37. In total, 111 checkpoints were established, with no arrests reported. The public was urged to verify information through official channels and warned against spreading false information online, which may incur legal penalties. Furthermore, the police requested the return of any unlawfully possessed arms or explosives.
