Shocking Mob Justice: Interfaith Couple Humiliated in Bihar Village

An interfaith couple faced humiliation in a shocking incident of mob justice in Bihar's Katihar district. Police reported that a married woman and her boyfriend were subjected to assault, had their heads shaved, and faces blackened before being paraded by a mob.

The couple, identified as Shakil and Sunita, were allegedly caught in an intimate encounter, which prompted the brutal act orchestrated under the directive of a local panchayat in Rahata in the Phalka police station area. Shakil's wife alerted the authorities, seeking intervention.

While Superintendent of Police Shikhar Choudhary confirmed the occurrence of the assault, an investigation is underway to bring the perpetrators to justice. A viral video of the incident circulated on social media, though its authenticity remains unverified.
