The picturesque Uttarkashi district is reeling after a catastrophic cloudburst ravaged its landscapes, unleashing massive flash floods and landslides. The affected areas, including Dharali, Sukhi Top, and Harsil, remain virtually isolated due to severe infrastructure damage, prompting an urgent response effort spearheaded by AIIMS Rishikesh and the Indian Army.

Speaking to ANI, AIIMS Rishikesh Director Meenu Singh expressed the institution's readiness to accommodate and treat affected individuals. 'This incident is heartbreaking,' she stated, confirming that necessary arrangements are in place to receive patients, with medical personnel poised for action.

In a testament to rapid mobilization, the Indian Army, with over 225 personnel on the ground, has commenced a comprehensive Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operation. Despite challenging conditions, military assets, including helipads and helicopters, are in full deployment, with rescue and relief missions underway. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has assured continued government support, emphasizing collaboration with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for effective disaster management.
